All about the thread count

When buying a set of sheets, it's worthwhile to understand some basics that will help you make a decision when deciding which linen to buy.

The Thread Count (or TC) of a fabric is measured by counting the total number of threads running in the warp (length) and weft (width) in a square inch of fabric. The higher the thread count, the better the quality of the fabric.

Good linen will have thread counts ranging from 200 to 800, and some will even go over 1000. Higher thread counts will mean that your linen will be heavier, last longer, wear more evenly and feel more luxurious than linen with lower thread counts.

Although thread count is not the only feature to take into account when buying your sheets, it is one of the most important aspects of your linen.

Our linen is available in easycare polycotton, durable polypercale, 100% cotton, and high thread count Egyptian Cotton. We stock a wide range of both percale and sateen linen, to suit your individual preference.
